THE LEOPARD

2019

film architecture paper project based on a book written by lampedusa, called ‘the leopard’.

the story sets in italy in the 1860s, an aristocratic sicilian family grudgingly adapts to the sweeping social changes undermining their way of life. proud but pragmatic prince don fabrizio salina allows his war hero nephew, tancredi, to marry angelica, the beautiful daughter of gauche, bourgeois don calogero, in order to maintain the family's accustomed level of comfort and political clout.

the salina palace was selected as the main set build for this project. its worn out baroque architecture was adorned with fresco paintings and delicate stucco work in every room. picture references were collected during the research period to support final designs.
