A GAME OF TRIC TRAC

the first set build project at nfts where students were given a painting to replicate and transform into a real-life set. this year the painting was from a dutch artist, johannes anthonie balthasar stroebel, called ‘a game of tric trac’.

for the first time production design students got an opportunity to collaborate with cinematography and dfx students, construct, light, dress the set and shoot a series of short montage together.

technical drawings including floor plans, elevations, detail drawings and scale model were created prior to set construction and used as tools to communicate with carpentry and other departments.
